Diagnostic Management SystemDiagnostic Management System or DMS is the software that is used to integrate all the clinical procedures associated with the treatment of a patient in a computerized recording. This software helps to store, transfer, retrieve, and input medical information for hospitals, individual physicians, clinics, group of doctors, and health care specialists. This online interface is managed by professionals coming from software development sectors.

The main objective of this software is to accelerate the medical record keeping procedure. It makes easier for the doctors to retrieve the data related to a patient. If a doctor has a computer, cell phone or a tablet with an internet connection, he will be able to have access to the analysis report, medical data, and patient data. It also helps the clinics to maintain the routine tasks for patients in an easier way. Right from patient registration to messaging, imaging, patient transcription, and prescription writing, this software ensure faster service and zero human error. It also offers stage-wise point-of-care solution for patients that suffer from diseases like cancer.

The workflow of the EMR consists of:

  • Registration of patient and scheduling of appointment
  • Capturing preliminary details of the patient
  • Medical history of the patient
  • Social background and insurance details of the patient
  • Education details
  • Previous history of operation and / or allergy
  • Family medical history

Based upon the information, a patient chart is made. It includes current complaints, diagnosis, prescribed tests, drug allergies, current medication, clinical reminder, and past surgery reports. If there is any related information to clinical trial, the physician refers to the DMS including the lab reports, information charts, chemo order, and so on.

If a patient is undergoing chemotherapy, then the software also helps to determine the type of cancer. The software then uses the ICO code master, stage grouping, staging, ICD based diagnosis processes, chemotherapy medicine, chemo cycle flow sheet, chemo order generation, and so on. On the basis of these inputs, the physician diagnoses a patient and determines the stage of the malignancy. Diagnostic Management System also helps in displaying the prescription in details, along with the notes of the doctor and the nurse.
